Five Years on the Camden Waterfront

Five Years on the Camden Waterfront Cover

American Water celebrates five years since relocating its national headquarters to the Camden, N.J. waterfront in 2018. American Water has a long-standing partnership with the City of Camden that dates back to the 19th century and that strong relationship continues to this day. New Jersey American Water serves the Cramer Hill and East Camden sections of Camden, while American Water Contract Services operates and maintains the water supply and distribution assets in the remaining parts of the city. Moving to the new headquarters allowed American Water employees, including scientists, experts in technology and innovation, engineers, and operations, to work together under one roof to provide solutions addressing water and wastewater challenges, provides a conducive environment for better collaboration, which ultimately allows the company to constantly improve service to its customers.

In recognition of its 5-year anniversary, the American Water Charitable Foundation provided a combined total of $25,000 in One Water Street grants to five of American Water’s longstanding Camden community partners: Camden Special Services District, Cathedral Kitchen, the Center for Aquatic Sciences, Hopeworks and Lucy Outreach.

Since 2018, American Water, New Jersey American Water and the American Water Charitable Foundation have collectively contributed nearly $5 million and provided approximately 3,000 employee volunteer hours to support the Camden community and its organizations.
