Kentucky American Water Now Accepting 2020 Environmental Grant Program Applications
Kentucky American Water is now accepting applications for American Water’s 2020 Environmental Grant Program awards. Organizations in Kentucky American Water’s service area, which includes portions of 14 counties ꟷ Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Jackson, Jessamine, Nicholas, Owen, Rockcastle, Scott and Woodford ꟷ are eligible to apply. The maximum grant award is $5,000.
Established by American Water in 2005, American Water’s Environmental Grant Program offers funds for innovative, community-based environmental projects that improve, restore or protect watersheds, surface water and/or groundwater supplies through partnerships. Kentucky American Water started offering the grant program in 2006. Since that time the company has awarded approximately $200,000 in grant funds for Kentucky projects.
“Kentucky American Water is pleased to offer this program to recognize and support organizations who share our commitment to protecting the environment, and in particular, protecting the water supply,” said David Farrar, vice president of operations.
Information and application requirements can be obtained directly from Kentucky American Water’s website at www.kentuckyamwater.com. Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2020.
