Kentucky American Water Proudly Recognizes American Water Charitable Foundation Grantees
The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., recently announced that two organizations were awarded a 2023 Workforce Readiness and STEM Education Grant and 16 organizations were awarded State Strategic Grants by the foundation serving communities served by Kentucky American Water.
“We are excited that the American Water Charitable Foundation has selected these organizations to receive grants. These funds will assist their efforts to provide various community programming, support services and resources across many counties in the Central Kentucky area,” said Kentucky American Water President Kathryn Nash. “We look forward to seeing their impact now and in years to come.”
The organizations receiving grants are:
• Community Action Council – Workforce Readiness Grant
• Explorium of Lexington – STEM Education Grant
• The following organizations all received a State Strategic Grant:
o Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky
o The Hearing and Speech Center
o YMCA of Central Kentucky Black Achievers Program
o Lexington Public Library Foundation
o Humane Society of Scott County
o Friends of the Scott County Public Library
o Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass
o Paris-Bourbon County YMCA
o Owen County Schools
o Living Arts and Science Center
o Lexington Habitat for Humanity
o Girl Scouts of Kentucky Wilderness Road Council
o The Nest
o Lift Up Lexington – Operation Secret Santa
o God’s Pantry
o Greenhouse 17
