American Water Charitable Foundation and Maryland American Water proudly announce State Strategic Impact Grant Recipients
Grants were awarded to four local organizations
BEL AIR, MD (February 14, 2024) – The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and Maryland American Water are proud to announce the organizations receiving a State Strategic Impact Grant.
“We are proud to partner with the American Water Charitable Foundation in granting critical funding to organizations that provide resources and programs that meet needs in the communities that we serve within Harford County,” said Barry Suits, President, Maryland American Water.
Grants totaling $34,500 have been awarded to the following organizations in 2023:
- Harford Glen Foundation Inc.
- Humane Society of Harford County Inc.
- NatureWorx, Inc.
- Winter Wonderland Inc.
The State Strategic Impact grant program was launched in 2022 to help support high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water’s national footprint. State Strategic Impact Grants are part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing grant program, focused on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities.
“Building strong communities is one of the most important things Maryland American Water does,” says Jeffrey Barton, Operations Manager, Maryland American Water. “By partnering with the American Water Charitable Foundation and local non-profits, we are dedicated to helping our communities be more vibrant places to live, work and play.
