American Water Charitable Foundation and Missouri American Water Announce 2023 State Strategic Grant Recipients
Grants awarded to 12 organizations throughout the state.
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (September 22, 2023) – The American Water Charitable Foundation (AWCF), a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, and Missouri American Water are proud to announce the 2023 organizations receiving a State Strategic Impact Grant.
“We are delighted to partner with the American Water Charitable Foundation in selecting organizations providing resources and programs that meet critical needs in communities throughout our state,” said Rich Svindland, president of Missouri American Water.
The AWCF’s State Strategic Impact grant program was launched in 2022 to help support high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water’s regulated and regulated-like footprint. State Strategic Impact grants are part of AWCF’s Keep Communities Flowing grant program, focused on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities.
“On behalf of the entire staff I want to thank the American Water Charitable Foundation and Missouri American Water for supporting the children and families receiving services from us,” said Stephanie Johnson, executive director of the Special Learning Center in Jefferson City. “Funds will be used to upgrade materials and equipment used in our classrooms.”
The Special Learning Center works to provide comprehensive education and therapy services to children with developmental disabilities and delays.
