Tennessee American Water Proudly Recognizes the American Water Charitable Foundation 2022 Workforce Readiness Grantees

Recipients include four nonprofit organizations across Tennessee American Water

Chattanooga, TN (December 9, 2022) – The American Water Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization established by American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, recently announced four organizations were awarded a 2022 Workforce Readiness Grant, supporting communities served by Tennessee American Water.

“We are excited that the American Water Charitable Foundation has selected these local organizations that help strengthen our community by providing workforce training through a variety of opportunities,” said Tennessee American Water President Grant Evitts. “We look forward to seeing the impact now and in years to come.”


The Workforce Readiness grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation’s Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities.  Below is a full list of Workforce Readiness grantees throughout Tennessee.

  • Project Return, Inc – “Employment Generating Social Enterprises”
  • Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center – “Native Landscape Apprenticeship Program”
  • Lookout Mountain Conservancy – “The Howard School Intern & Leadership Program”
  • Building & Construction Workforce Center – “Construction Career Center Chattanooga”
