West Virginia American Water Awards Ten Bottle Filling Stations to Organizations Across the State

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Oct. 8, 2024) – West Virginia American Water announced today the recipients of its annual Bottle Filling Station program. This year, the company will provide touchless filling stations for reusable water bottles to ten organizations in West Virginia.

“By providing bottle filling stations to schools, community centers and public parks across the state, West Virginia American Water is showing its continued commitment to eliminating single use plastics that pollute our environment and drinking water sources,” said Robert Burton, president of West Virginia American Water. “We believe bottle filling stations will inspire healthier, more eco-conscious habits, creating a positive impact across our service footprint.”

In 2019, West Virginia American Water was the first business or organization in the state to offer a program of this kind through its community investment and environmental stewardship efforts. Since its inception, West Virginia American Water’s program has provided over 100 bottle filling stations to organizations across West Virginia. This year’s program will provide a bottle filling station to the following organizations across the state:

Boone County

  • Town of Whitesville (Whitesville)

Cabell County

  • Cabell-Huntington Health Department (Huntington)

Fayette County

  • Midland Trail Community Center (Ansted)
  • Oak Hill Skate Park (Oak Hill)

Kanawha County

  • South Charleston High School (South Charleston)
  • WVU Medicine-Thomas Hospital (South Charleston)
  • Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club (Charleston)
  • CAMC Foundation Hospitality House (Charleston)

Lewis County

  • WVU State Fire Training Academy (Weston)
  • Lewis County High School (Weston)
