Supplier Diversity Outreach

Outreach to external supplier diversity organizations is a key part of our supplier diversity development strategy.

Supplier diversity outreach is a collaborative effort between our supplier diversity and procurement functions, business line and departmental staff, and diverse business development organizations. Regular interaction with these organizations allows us to connect with and discuss business opportunities with diverse suppliers and to share best practices with procurement organizations in other companies or agencies. Outreach also helps us understand the business challenges faced by diverse suppliers, which helps guide us as we design and deliver technical assistance and capacity building programs.

American Water Supplier Diversity values the innovative mindset and approaches that diverse suppliers provide. We take our commitment to supplier diversity seriously, so much so that we have created an events page that provides a sample of our commitment through photos, videos and posters from past events, highlighting our efforts of inclusion, diversity, equity and engagement in the diverse business community.
